There are twelve men and women living at the residence. These individuals have severe and persistent mental illness and also struggle with substance abuse and addiction illnesses. The program is transitional in nature, although residents can stay at the house for as long as they need. The Hamilton Street Residence is a newly-built, three-story home located in Dorchester. Two shifts of two staff members each provide double coverage between 7:00am and 11:00pm. There is an awake staff person on duty over night (11:00pm - 7:00am). For residents who stay home during the day, special group meetings are scheduled daily throughout the week.
