Central Annex Apartments is a low-Income Family, Elderly/Disabled Apartments consisting of 62 Studio, 1 and 2 Bedroom Apartments located in the downtown Pittsfield area. Applicants must be at least 62 years of age, handicapped or disabled or qualify as a family as set forth for Section 8 substantial rehabilitation projects and must fall within the income limits as listed below. Central Annex is a unique building which sets near a large city park, close to downtown Pittsfield. Rehabilitated in 1980, it was the site of the former Pittsfield High School and Berkshire Community College. Shopping, churches, post office, doctors and hospital are within walking distance. This building is listed in the National Historical Society registry. Bus service is available to many area towns. The two sites are located about one half mile from each other, and both are within close walking distance of downtown Pittsfield.
