It is the mission of the Dighton Housing Authority to provide safe, sanitary and affordable housing to both the elderly and non-elderly disabled. To live in state assisted elderly/disabled public housing, you must be at least 60 years old. If you are a person under 60 with a disability, you must meet certain criteria to be eligible for state housing for disabled persons. We do not have family or Section 8 Housing at the Dighton Housing Authority. Pet policy: one dog, or cat, or caged mammal. Two birds, one aquarium 20 gallons or less.
You must complete an application and then be placed on a wait list that is kept by the authority. When your name reaches the top of the wait list, the authority will contact you. Priority is given to a qualified emergency (ask for details).
Preference is given to a Dighton veteran, spouse of a veteran, a Dighton resident or an employee who works in Dighton
