Abby’s operates 7 two-bedroom apartments and 70 single room units in four buildings in Worcester, which serve women and children from across Central MA. The rental fees we collect only cover 48% of these costs. The remainder is covered by foundation and corporate grants, special events and individual contributions. Women living in our housing receive wrap-around services. The average stay for a woman living in our housing is two years. 98% of the women we serve move into independent housing.
There is no age limit for children living with their mothers in this program. Residents should be clean for six months before moving in to an Abby's House room or apartment. Very independent living situation. Short walk to bus routes and Peter Pan Buslines. Furnished rooms and apartments. On-site staff Monday-Friday. 24 hour on-call staff.Relapse prevention. Case management. Assistance in accessing services from other providers (including the Homeless Outreach & Advocacy Project and Family Health & Social Services). Transportation assistance. On-site day center, food pantry and thrift shop. Lunch served at day center. Residents sign a month-to-month lease with Abby's House, Inc. which serves as Service Provider, Developer, and Property Manager.
The ground floor level apartment is wheelchair accessible. Entrance is ground level; there are no steps from the parking lot pathway to an entrance.
