Beryl's House (Sigourney House)

Beryl’s House is a 25- bed six-month residential recovery home for women, including pregnant and postpartum women and their infants. Clients must have completed a civil commitment under MGL Chapter 123 Section 35, and who are coming directly from a BSAS approved Section 35 referral source (Women’s Addiction Treatment Center (WATC) and Massachusetts Correctional Institution (MCI-Framingham) or a woman that was immediately enrolled in a TSS or CSS program following the Section 35 commitment with no breaks in treatment. Minimum 9 month program for sobriety. Recovering mothers and their children. Advocacy, counseling, referral. Some clothing, food, day program. Priority will be given to pregnant women, women ages 18 to 22, and women living with co-occurring disorders. Residents share the space in this large congregate setting. Smoking is permitted only in the outside designated area during free time. 24-hour awake staffing is provided. Supportive services available to clients include: substance use disorder treatment, mental health counseling, group therapy, domestic violence counseling, health education, personal development, self esteem building, parenting skills development, vocational training, life skills training and comprehensive case management. The mission of Beryl’s House is to provide a safe, supportive recovery community that will promote a sense of empowerment, personal accountability and life skills essential for women and their families to stabilize and lead substance free, productive lives. Provision of parenting skills and supports; to connect able-bodied women with full time employment; and to increase residents’ quality of life, health, well being and commitment to self care.
