The Elms is a sober residential supportive housing program for adult men who have struggled with addiction to drugs and/or alcohol, and have recently achieved a short period of abstinence. The Elms provides a safe, sober, and supportive environment to empower men in their recovery. The ultimate goal is to help individuals lead an independent lifestyle while remaining abstinent from drugs and alcohol. This goal is achieved by encouraging residents to attend daily 12-step meetings, engage in individual counseling, and participate in house meetings and relapse prevention groups.
The Elms utilizes a case management model to assist residents in learning new ways to successfully live a drug and/or alcohol free lifestyle. The program relies on a peer mentorship model, and building positive relationships amongst the residents. Resident clients are expected to share the responsibilities associated with the cleaning of the facility.
