The new housing at 265 Rindge Avenue in Cambridge offers 10 private furnished bedrooms with phone and cable hook up available in each bedroom. The newly renovated building includes shared kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms, and bathrooms on each of the three floors. There is also on-site laundry, limited on-site parking, and a live-in manager. The program will offer case management and counseling to assist residents in retaining their housing and increasing their incomes. Residents will be expected to participate in case management services and weekly support groups.
You must be able to document one of the following current living situations:
(1) Residing in a place not meant for human habitation, such as cars, parks, sidewalks, and abandoned buildings;
(2) Residing in an emergency shelter;
(3) Residing in transitional or supportive housing for homeless persons who originally came from the streets or an emergency shelter;
(4) Residing in a treatment facility or hospital for less than 30 days and previously coming from the streets, emergency shelter, transitional or supportive housing described above;
(5) Other limited circumstances accepted by HUD as constituting homelessness, but not including temporarily staying with friends or family in housing which is not your own.
