Serves 10 single men and women living with HIV/AIDS. Applicants must be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Applicants with a history of substance abuse must have 90 days clean time. Applicants taking methadone are eligible for this program. This is a clean and sober program. The Luis E. Martinez House is a three-story building located near stores and public buses. The building houses five two-bedroom apartments. Every resident has their own bedroom and shares a full bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen area with one other resident. There is a community living room, dining room, and kitchen. The first floor unit is wheelchair accessible. The building has an elevator. Laundry facilities are provided at no cost. The small yard has raised gardens. Residents sign an annual lease with the New Bedford Housing Authority.
