Serves individuals with HIV/AIDS, and families in which at least one member is living with HIV or AIDS. Applicants should be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Most program participants are Latino/a.
SERVICES OFFERED
"The AIDS Project" is a comprehensive supportive services program of the River Valley Counseling Center (housing services are one component of the program). The following are some of the services available through the Center:
Bi-cultural, bilingual case management
Outreach
Referrals to other supportive services (i.e. substance abuse counseling, legal services)
Mental health counseling
Emergency financial assistance
Childcare
Assistance with transportation (i.e.vans, taxis, bus passes)
Respite care
Nutrition assistance
Volunteer services

River Valley Housing & Support Services Program consists of 22 scattered-site apartments in both public housing and in privately-owned buildings.
